Happy finds = happy Carly : )

Yesterday saw me travelling up to my old home base, Blackwood. Love it up there. Not only do they have some great op shops, I just love the little town feel and especially the new cafe there - Cafe De La Paix - super cute, tasty food & great coffee! I can highly recommend a visit.

Anyway - back to the good stuff! Rosie, my mother-in-law & I after checked out the Save the Children Store. There was some good things there - especially some retro clothes! If you need an 80's formal dress this is the place! I found a tea pot to replace the one I had somehow cracked, nothing too special but simple and white and a good small size.

From there we crossed the main road to get to the Salvo's store. Saw a racy red trench coat but it was simply too glossy and made me look cheap!! So left that one there! But I was jumping up and down when I found a white Witchery cardigan in top condition! Love it - and they are still having their 20% off if you show the discount coupon on the Salvo's Facebook page (valid until the end of March).

With only a few minutes left before school & kindy pick up we checked out the Red Cross Store on Shephards Hill Rd but didn't find anything. At times they have a really good collection of old style furniture and items that I love. I once found my Hermes Baby Typewriter there which was in great condition and I love it!

It's been a bit too long since I've been up that way to check out the op shops, so I'll have to make sure I get there again soon.

Jeans, scarf & a funky little bag

Today's visit to the Salvo's store at 429 Brighton Rd, Brighton (my local) is as always successful - in finding something that makes me excited! This store has a really good turnover (I know I help contribute to that!) so they are always getting in new stock. The layout of the store has also been improved heaps and is really great to wander around in, and easy to find the sections/items you are interested in looking at.

So today I found a pair of 3/4 jeans, great winter grey scarf and a little bag for my camera when on the run.
My mother in law was with me and she purchased a grey Esprit cardigan which I loved. It had a cable knit pattern on the front and back on the top half. Sweet!

PS The cushion underneath was also an op shop purchase!

Op Shop Happy!

Welcome to the first posting on Happy Little Finds! I am so excited to have this blog up and running - well it's still to be set up and fine tuned, but that will be an ongoing process!

I want to be able to share my op shop experience so others can appreciate the value in op shopping and how every little bit helps the earth, the community and people in so many ways. Not to mention one's satisfaction in finding the best bargains!

So let me know where you like to shop and I can't wait to begin sharing my op shop details with you!
